Following careful consideration, the American Headache Society (AHS) leadership has made the difficult yet necessary decision to cancel the in-person portion of the AHS Scottsdale Headache Symposium® originally scheduled for November 19 – 22, 2020, in Scottsdale, AZ. The meeting will now be a virtual event launching November 21, 2020. Please save the date and view our FAQ page for additional details.

The Scottsdale Headache Symposium® is designed for general practitioners, internists, pediatricians, neurologists, anesthesiologists, dentists, physical therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and other health professionals who treat headache. The Symposium provides practical, clinical, evidence-based information on the diagnosis, management and treatment of headache patients.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion of this meeting, attendees should be better able to:

  • Acquire basic knowledge in diagnosis, epidemiology, and treatment of primary and secondary headache disorders, to apply in clinical practice and research
  • Clarify differences in the clinical characteristics of migraine, trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias, other primary and secondary headaches to optimize outcomes in clinical practice and research
  • Extend their information base on the most important new cutting-edge Headache Medicine treatments for both utilization in and assessment of success in clinical practice
  • Prepare options for practical application in the treatment of difficult to treat or refractory headaches
